No survivors in PIA aircraft crash - spokesperson

ISLAMABAD, Dec 7 (KUNA) -- There were no survivors found of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight carrying 48 people that crashed near Abbottabad city on Wednesday, said an official.
PIA spokesperson, Muhammad Azam Saigol in a press conference said, "PIA Flight PK-661 aircraft ATR-42 (AP-BHO) crashed near Havelian at 1642 hours, 42 passengers, five crew members and one ground engineer were on board." The crash site is near a small village called Saddha Batolni, he added. The spokesperson confirmed that there are no survivors. The official claimed that there was no technical or human error and an investigation into the incident is underway.
The plane was en route to Islamabad from Chitral city carrying three foreigners, including two Austrians and one Chinese.
President of Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the crash. They also condoled with the bereaved families for the loss of their dear ones and prayed for the eternal peace of departed souls. (pickup previous) sbk.hb
