KUWAIT, Dec 7 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait Embassy in Tanzania, in cooperation with Kuwaiti charities, has inaugurated five water wells simultaneously at five schools in Dar es Salaam.
Ambassador Jassem Al-Najem said in a statement on Wednesday that the wells were dug in coordination with Tanzanian welfare societies as part of the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission's initiative, themed, "water well for each school," intended to help the nation cope with water scarcity and draught.
The initiative has been launched in response to appeals by President John Magufuli for help to secure basic needs in the local teaching sector. Officials from the Kuwaiti Direct Aid Society and Africa Aid Organization took part in digging the wells.
Local officials expressed deep gratitude to the State of Kuwaiti for its continuing aid to the nation. (end) tam.rk
