Bahrain's monarch hopes GCC-Britain talks to broaden bilateral ties

(Re-opens) MANAMA -- Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Wednesday expressed hope that the GCC leaders' talks with the British Prime Minister Theresa May would open up broader prospects of bilateral cooperation. Addressing the GCC-Britain meeting, the Bahraini monarch said they are looking forward to fruitful outcome of today's discussions for wider prospects of cooperation between the two sides, to conclude new agreements and resolutions to build on what has already been achieved, through the exchange of views and expertise in all fields.
On part of the GCC leaders, the monarch thanked the UK Premier for attending the 37th GCC Summit as a guest of honor on her first official visit to the region.
He noted that the visit would help consolidate the already deep-rooted historical ties that have brought together the two sides for more than 200 years.
King Hamad called for focusing efforts on developing the partnership between the public and private sectors and investing promising opportunities through definite plans of action based on the proper mechanisms, to carry on with the consultation, cooperation and coordination, to further boost the strategic GCC-UK relations.
