'Voice of GCC' Station to convey unified Gulf media message

MANAMA, Dec 7 (KUNA) -- The newly-launched "Voice of the GCC" Station is much anticipated to play a major role in unifying the GCC media message, media figures have agreed.
The Voice of the GCC Station' is a leading media venture, the fruit of great efforts, and part of the hard work to realize the aspired Gulf media union, official at Kuwait TV Hassan Al-Hamli, told KUNA on Wednesday.
On his part, executive director at the Saud Radio Khalil Al-Sadi told KUNA that the station acquired prime significance as it is expected to address all segments of the Gulf society, touching upon the political economic and social scenes.
Al-Sadi boasted that he is taking part in the station, along with a host of a constellation of the GCC media figures.
The station is a new strong link among the GCC leaders, and people, Qatari announcer Mohammad Al-Omari, told KUNA.
He referred to distinct coverage by the GCC Voice Station of the 37th GCC Summit currently held in Manama.
It aims to discuss the major Gulf topics within a friendly framework, he said, voicing hope that the idea of a GCC media union will soon come true.
Ahmad Al-Hamadani, an announcer in the Omani Radio, said that the significance of the new Voice of the GCC Station lied in credibility and transparency, as well as its eagerness to provide an adequate service to listeners on the issues of concern to them.
It is being operated through a definite method and strategy for realizing the aspired integration among the GCC states, Al-Hamadani said. It is based on a principle of jumping over differences and disagreements.
The station will not be confined to special occasions, such as the present summit, but it will continuously present people with a variety of political, economic, social, cultural, scientific and artistic programs to boost sentiments of integration among the Gulf countries, the Omani anchor said.
