PARIS, Dec 5 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Permanent Representative to UNESCO Dr. Mishal Hayat has been attacked by an unknown person while exercising two days ago, but he is in a good health condition, Kuwait's Ambassador in Paris said.
Sami Al-Sulaiman said, in a statement to KUNA, Hayat was doing his walking exercise on Saturday when he was attacked by an unknown person, who run away after the assault.
Hayat was whisked to hospital for medical examinations, he added, and was discharged after making sure he was in a good health condition.
French security authorities, who were immediately informed, rushed to the scene of the attack and started their investigations, he added.
The Embassy of Kuwait is closely following up the attack with the relevant French authorities, said Al-Sulaiman.
He added that the Kuwaiti foreign ministry was also following the issue closely. (end)
