KASLA, Sudan, Dec 5 (KUNA) -- Dar Al-Khair orphanage project, funded by Kuwait's Al-Rahma international, is the biggest project of its kind in Kasla, eastern Sudan.
The project, which extends over an area exceeding 52,000 square meters is targeting thousands of orphans. It is an integrated complex for education from kindergarten level to high school. It also offers housing, health and therapeutic services to provide a decent life for orphans.
The project's supervisor, Muzmil Mohammed Mahjoub told (KUNA) that Dar Al-Khair development complex is a pilot project to provide full sponsorship for orphans.
He expressed his appreciation to the state of Kuwait for its humanitarian efforts.
For his part, the project's engineer told (KUNA) that the work on the project exceeded 60 percent, pointing out that the project includes 13 buildings and matches similar complexes that have been implemented in Djibouti and Somalia.
Sudanese local officials said that Kuwait's contribution to these projects is 'honorable," referring to the significant role played by the Kuwaiti humanitarian organizations in the east of Sudan. (end) hha.haq
