PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Kuwait is taking part in Putrajaya International Islamic Arts and Culture Festival (PIIACUF), held in Putrajaya, Malaysia between December 2-11, with a collection of distinguished traditional costumes that drew the audience's attention.
Kuwaiti designer Noha Al-Mansour said in remarks to KUNA that her participation in this event came to reflect Kuwait's prominent cultural role and distinguished heritage.
She is displaying a collection of folkloric costumes especially the ones worn in weddings and Eids.
Al-Mansour chose these costumes and accessories as part of Kuwait's celebrations as being the capital of Islamic culture for 2016.
"Kuwait's heritage is part of the Islamic heritage which calls to promote values, ethics and humanitarian civilized behavior".
She expressed her thanks to the Kuwaiti embassy in Malaysia, headed by Ambassador Saad Al-Asousi whose visit to the Kuwaiti pavilion in (PIIACUF) was of high consideration.
The PIICUF's coordinator in remarks to KUNA praised the Kuwaiti participation in this event which reflects the marvellous Gulf culture.
"The Kuwaiti costumes being loose and beautiful reflect the core of the Islamic costumes" she added.
She thanked the Kuwaiti diplomat for his keenness on the Kuwaiti participation for the second consecutive time in the festival.
The festival hosts a number of exhibitions, like the textile fair, handicrafts fair, Holy Qur'an "Al-Noor" fair , besides offering religious cultures, folkloric dances and Islamic fashion shows. (end) aab.lb
