NOUAKCHOTT, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) made it its mission to help countries around the globe to seek roads of development and progression.
In Mauritania, KFAED helped to provide a loan, worth KD 11 million, in 2011 to aid the construction of a water network which will cover Nouakchott city's needs till 2030.
Speaking to KUNA on the project, Abfal Ould Mahfouth told KUNA that Nouakchott city was in desperate need for the construction of such projects aimed at providing clean water for the city.
Nouakchott is home for around a million people, said Ould Mahfouth, stressing that the network provided necessary water resources for the city which suffered from extreme drought.
The official thanked KFAED for its continuous support to Mauritania, saying that the people of his country will always remember this generous gestures by the leadership and people of Kuwait.
Since 1975, KFAED provided 19 loans to Mauritania worth KD 113 million to fund numerous development projects. (end) skm.gta
