23 Turkish forces, civilians killed in confrontation with PKK - sources

ANKARA, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- Thirty-two Turkish forces and civilians were killed while 100 others injured in clashes with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Turkey and northern Iraqi during November, security sources said.
The Turkish army, however, killed 275 PKK militants during military operations in different parts of Turkey and northern Iraq, and arrested 583 others while 19 Kurdish gunmen turned themselves in, the sources were quoted by the Anadolu news agency as saying.
The Turkish forces also discovered a 400-meter-long tunnel linking a town in the southern city of Mardin with Qamishli in northern Syria, the sources said. The tunnel was used to smuggle explosives between PKK and Kurdish forces in Syria, they added.
Fighting renewed between the Turkish forces the PKK in July 2015, killing some 800 Turkish troops and over 300 civilians. The Turkish army killed more than 10,000 PKK militants. (pickup previous) rs.bs
