Moroccan authorities dismantle IS-linked "terrorist cell"

RABAT, Dec 2 (KUNA) -- Moroccan authorities have dismantled a "terrorist cell" linked to the so-called Islamic State (IS), the Ministry of Interior announced on Friday.
The cell consisted of eight operatives and had been active in Fez and Tangier cities, the statement said.
Dismantling the cell was part of preemptive action to counter terrorist threats in the Kingdom.
Two of the cell's members were arrested for other IS-linked terrorist cases back in 2003, it noted.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that members of the cell had close ties with terrorist fighters in Syria and Iraq who are actively recruiting volunteers to fight for IS. (end) mry.nfm
