Operations kill 20 rebels across Afghanistan: MoD

ISLAMABAD, Dec 2 (KUNA) - At least 20 Taliban rebels were killed and nine others wounded in different parts of Afghanistan in past 24 hours, said Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Friday.
The causalities were inflicted on Taliban in Nangarhar, Paktia, Ghazni, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Daikundi, Badghis, Herat, Farah, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces during operations by security forces, added a statement by the MoD. Fifty landmines, a bag of ammonium nitrate and some tools of mine making had been recovered during the offensive, it said, not mentioning if there were casualties from among security forces.
According to local media, Taliban claimed to have kill 30 personnel of security forces and wound many others during the clashes in different parts of the country over the past 24 hours. The clashes came at a time when Afghan security forces have paced up their operations against Taliban to maintain law and order in Afghanistan. (end) sbk.msa
