Kuwaiti official calls for further joint efforts against malicious media campaigns

AMMAN, Dec 1 (KUNA) -- It is imperative to bolster Arab media cooperation to face anti-Arab media campaigns, and also at times of emergencies and crises, a Kuwaiti media official said on Thursday.
Director of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Department of the Foreign Media Sector at the Ministry of Information (MoI) Faris Al-Enezi made the remark in a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of the fourth joint GCC/Jordanian meeting, which tackled various media affairs.
Al-Enezi noted that the fight against terrorism was the focal point of discussions during the meeting, besides other issues on promoting cooperation between Jordan and the GCC.
On such meetings, the Kuwaiti official said they are instrumental for developing the media sector in the Arab world, adding that extensive training programs and workshops for employees of government news agencies are in the works.
He added that he is hopeful that such meetings would pay dividends in further solidifying cordial ties between the GCC and the Hashemite Kingdom.
It was decided that the fifth GCC/Jordan meeting will be held during the first week of April, 2017, in one of the GCC states.
In addition to Al-Enezi, Inspector of General Secretariat Affairs at the MoI Muath Al- Mulaifi made up the Kuwaiti delegation to the meeting. (end) mjb.nam
