OIC condemns formation of nat'l Salvation Gov't in Yemen

JEDDAH, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned on Tuesday formation of a National Salvation Government by the so-called High Political Council affiliated to the Houthis and former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah's militants.
OIC stressed its rejection of this illegal government which is considered a violation of the United Nations Security Council's (UNCS) resolutions, a statement of OIC said.
This is considered a dilemma to the regional and international efforts exerted to find a peaceful solution to the Yemeni crisis in order to end the suffering of the Yemeni people and preserve security and stability in this war-torn country, it added.
OIC Secretary General Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen said the Organization is committed to supporting the legal government in Yemen, headed by Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi.
He called on all conflicting parties to positively interact with the UN special envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in order to reach a compromise to the Yemeni crisis based on the UN resolutions, the Gulf initiative as well as the results of National Dialogue Conference (NDC). (end) nh.lb
