IS leader killed, Mosul radio stn. recaptured - Iraqi army

IRBIL, Nov 26 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi army said Saturday a coalition warplane hit a vehicle belonging to the so-called Islamic State (IS) in southeast Mosul and killed four IS militants on board.
One of the four deaths is Abu Anas Al-Shishani, a leading member of the militant group, according to a statement by the Iraqi military media dept. of the joint operation command.
The airstrike took place in Al-Shamsiyat village near the northern city of Mosul, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Iraqi forces kept advancing on the militant group and restored control over the building of Mosul radio station.
The anti-terrorism forces recaptured Al-Amn, Al-Khadra and Al-Karama neighborhoods in Mosul.
Members of the ninth mechanized unit managed to kill six IS militants and destroy two motorbikes in the southeastern parts of the city.
The command of the unit honored corporal Yenour Yasser, who is nicknamed "Sayyad Al-Dawa'esh" (IS hunter), after sniping two more IS members, thus taking his tally to 24.
The battle for Mosul started on October 17 with more than 45,000 Iraqi soldiers taking part besides the Kurdish Peshmerga forces. (pickup previous) sbr.gb
