Dubai, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Public Authority for Industry (PAI) is keen on participating in major industrial exhibitions that allow it to display Kuwaiti products, PAI's Acting Director General Abdulkarim Taki said on Monday.
Taki made the remark in a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of "The Big 5 International Building and Construction Show" in Dubai, with participation of hundreds of construction companies from all across the globe.
Moreover, he said that the aim of PAI's participation in this event is to familiarize visitors with construction material used in Kuwait and to get acquainted with international firms.
He noted that PAI has been formed to prop up the local industrial sector, which will help propel it to regional and international markets.
"Even though Kuwait is a fledgling industrial nation, it has managed to offer products that are on par with international standards," he said. Taki also added that Kuwaiti industries can be found interspersed throughout the expo, noting that the scattered presence will help bring Kuwait to the limelight.
Some 73,000 visitors are expected to converge on the expo, which goes on until November 24. The event allows industries to showcase their products and interact with their counterparts from all over the world. (end) smr.nam
