KUWAIT, Nov 21 (KUNA) -- Under the auspices of Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Shiekh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, a ceremony held on Sunday to honor high achivers for the academic year 2015/2016, all of whom are the sons and daughters of the nation's martyrs.
The ceremony opened with the national anthem and verses from the holy Quran, followed by a speech delivered by Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah.
The Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs spoke of an elite fraternity that has done the nation proud through outstanding academic achievements, highly reminiscent of the way their late fathers sacrificed their lives to safeguard the country.
Moreover, he underscored that the Kuwaiti leadership is proud of the nation's youth and will support them as they ascend to the upper echelons of society.
Addressing the students assembled in Regency Hotel where the ceremony was held, Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah said that they are the future of the nation, as he urged them to continue stockpiling exemplary accomplishments.
Meanwhile, in a speech of her own, the Amiri Diwan's Undersecretary and head of the martyrs' office Fatma Al-Amir said that the country is elated to fete this group of outstanding students, pressing them no to rest on their laurels and to strive for further success.
