KRSC intensifies every year its support for the Syrian refugees before the beginning of winter by distributing blankets and clothes, Musaed Al-Enzi, head of KRCS, told KUNA in a statement on Wednesday.
Winter season doubles suffering of refugees who are facing tough conditions and living at inappropriate camps, he said.
He stressed the importance of the campaign of "warm winter" launched by KRSC and Zain, in an attempt to alleviate suffering of refugees.
He urged all institutions and companies to launch similar initiatives so as to contribute to serving people who are in distress.
For his part, Hamad Jassem, Zain's representative, expressed his hope that the campaign would mitigate refugees' suffering.
He lauded the role of KRCS and charities in Kuwait in aiding Syrian people, affirming the necessity of concerted efforts of different bodies working in humanitarian action.
Last week, the society launched a popular campaign to collect donations for Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon under the slogan of "warm winter".
