DOHA, Nov 3 (KUNA) -- KUNA's Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah extolled on Thursday Qatar News Agency's (QNA) efforts to bring the Gulf nation's achievements to the focus of public attention.
In a meeting with QNA's Director General Ahmad Saad Al-Bouaynain, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij called on the need of greater cooperation between the two news agencies to ensure thorough coverage of some the region's most prominent events.
Moreover, he commended QNA for palpable headway in the editorial sector, including its work on a comprehensive smart phone application pegged as a one-stop source for the latest news from Gulf agencies, part of efforts to embrace the latest technological means to broadcast news.
On the application, KUNA's head said it represents a watershed in the works of Gulf news agencies, one that is sure to herald further development in the news business.
Meanwhile, QNA's Director General said he is appreciative of Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij's visit, noting continued progress made by KUNA, most notably, its delivery of electronic services that run the gamut from social media websites to short messages (SMS) and news captions. (end) nnd.nam
