W. House pushes back on Trump calls over Clinton emails

WASHINGTON, Oct 26 (KUNA) -- President Barack Obama traded emails with then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton but had no knowledge of where her server was located or what sort of arrangements had been made to store her email, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said.
Earnest was responding to remarks by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump that Obama should be investigated over the issue, which came after the latest batch of hacked emails, released by Wikileaks, emerged.
Obama was asked in a March 2015 interview whether he was aware that Secretary Clinton was using an email system outside of the government for official administration business, Earnest noted during a briefing, late on Tuesday.
"The Presidentآ’s response was that he was not aware of that arrangement in terms of where her server was located, but the President did not suggest that he had not traded emails with her," Earnest said.
"I think the Presidentآ’s knowledge of Secretary Clintonآ’s email is the same kind of knowledge that we all have about people that we email with, which is that we know their email address but we donآ’t know what sort of server is being used to support that email system," Earnest said. (end) rm.rk
