LONDON, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait 'cultural days' exhibition and activities were launched Tuesday in a bid to celebrate the country's cultural bequest.
It is of significance to hold such artistic fairs and activities around the world in order to acquaint people with the rich and diverse Kuwaiti cultural heritage, stressed Khaled Al-Duwaisan, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of Kuwait in London, in a statement to KUNA. The event is to last until October 29.
On his part, UK Ambassador to Kuwait Matthew Lodge told KUNA that holding the exhibition reflected "sturdy and distinguished" bilateral relations enjoyed by the two friendly countries, as "many Kuwaitis consider Britain as their second country." Lodge saw that holding the exhibition in London would give the British people an "excellent opportunity" to be exposed to various art forms by young Kuwaiti talents.
According to Tahani Al-Adwani, assistant secretary general of Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the participation in this event came acting upon a MoU signed between the two countries on cooperation in the fields of culture and arts.
The exhibition sees the distinguished participations of chefs Abdurrazzaq Al-Sayed and Wafa Al-Kanderi, critically-acclaimed pianist Lulwa Al-Shamlan, award-winning photographer Ali Al-Zeidi and the band (Q8 tunes). (end) kd.hb
