Death toll of Quetta police center attack rise to 40

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- At least 40 security personnel were killed and around 110 others injured as militants stormed a police training college in Quetta city of Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province late on Monday.
Inspector of the Frontier Corps (FC), Major General Sher Afgan, in a statement to media, said that there were three terrorists and all of them were wearing suicide vests. He added that the attackers were communicating with their handlers in Afghanistan.
Security forces, which took control of the situation, are conducting search and clearance operation in the training center that houses over 500 police cadets. All the cadets were evacuated from the training center.
The attackers entered the complex through the front gate of the police center situated on Saryab road of provincial capital.
An emergency has been declared in all government hospitals of the city where death toll is feared to rise. (end) sbk.gta
