Arab League commends Jordan for accepting to host forthcoming Arab summit

CAIRO, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul Gheit said on Monday he was confident Jordan would succeed in organizing next year's Arab summit in a way that would enable Arab countries address numerous challenges.
Abul Gheit commended the great commitment manifested by Jordan under the leadership of King Abdullah II in a drive to bolster common Arab action against the challenges, spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said in a press statement.
Arab countries will be holding consultations over the summit, due nxt March, he said.
Jordan announced earlier today it would host the 28th Arab League Summit after Yemen declined to host the annual meeting of the Arab leaders.
King Abdullah II directed the government to host the summit after Yemen made an excuse. (end) mfm.bs
