Russian FM accuses gunmen of breaching truce in Syria's Aleppo

MOSCOW, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused on Monday the gunmen in Syria of torpedoing the humanitarian truce in Aleppo.
This came during a telephone conversation between Lavrov and his US counterpart John Kerry, Russia's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Lavrov stressed the need to separate the moderate opposition from the terrorist groups, the statement added.
Retaliating to the truce, the illegal armed groups controlling the eastern areas of Aleppo opened fire at citizens who tried to leave the city, he pointed out.
The humanitarian truce announced by Russia last week collapsed after insurgents and government forces in Aleppo and its suburbs had resumed clashes. (end) as.hm
