Jordan to host 28th Arab Summit after Yemen declines

AMMAN, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- Jordan announced officially on Monday that it would host the 28th Arab League Summit after Yemen declined to host the annual meeting of the Arab leaders.
King Abdullah II directed the government to host the summit after Yemen made an excuse, Jordan's news agency (Petra) reported.
Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh told the Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Aboul-Gheit that the Kingdom agreed to host, and chair the summit, the agency added.
In a letter, Judeh asked the League chief about consultations over the coming period on measures and steps needed to agree on the date of the summit, and extend invitations to the Arab leaders. (end) mgb.maa.hm
