US-led coalition kills two IS militants in N. Aleppo

ISTANBUL, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- At least two militants of the so-called Islamic State (IS) were killed and a vehicle destroyed in an airstrike carried out by the U.S.-led coalition forces, Turkish General Staff said in a statement on Saturday.
The Turkish army hit 122 targets of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), Democratic Union Party (PYD) and IS in the past 24 hours as part of Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria, the statement added.
Saturday's statement said 15 Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters were wounded during an opposition forces' offensive to retake two villages in the Mare district, northwest of Al-Bab.
The PKK/PYD terrorist group attacked FSA fighters in south of Jarabulus city, killing two people, it added.
Operation Euphrates Shield was launched in late August to rid the north Syrian border area of terrorists.
According to data, since the start of the operations on August 24, up to 156 inhabited areas were controlled. (end) ta.hm
