WASHINGTON, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah met late Friday with a number of US military veterans who took part in the Gulf War which led to the liberation of Kuwait from the Iraq aggressors.
This meeting came on the sideline of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's visit to Washington where he is participating in the US-Kuwaiti Strategic Dialogue.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled thanked the US military for the efforts in liberating Kuwait, stressing that the American soldiers' sacrifices will be forever remembered by the Kuwaiti leadership and people.
On his part, CEO and President of the Desert Storm War Memorial Association Scott C. Stump said that the US troops were honored to have taken part in the war that resulted in the liberation Kuwait. He affirmed that a memorial will be unveiled soon to honor those who participated in operation Desert Storm.
The meeting was attended by senior officers and officials at Kuwait's Foreign Ministry as well as members of the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission in Washington. (end) sd.gta
