Four Iranians confirmed dead in Iraq's power plant attack

TEHRAN, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- Four Iranians were killed and three others wounded in an attack by the so-called Islamic State (IS) militants on a power plant in the Iraqi northern city of Kirkuk, Tehran confirmed on Friday.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi added in a statement that as IS groups are being weakened in Iraq, they have been conducting random attacks against innocent people.
Kirkuk's provincial police chief Sarhad Qadir told KUNA that the attack against the power plant was carried out by three IS suicide bombers; two were able to blow themselves up, as security forces killed the third.
He added that the total number of the power plant casualties was seven, in addition to the four Iranians. (end) mw.nfm
