DOHA, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- Located 100 kilometers northwest of the capital Doha, the town of Zubarah is known for being one of the chief cultural attractions in Qatar.
Selected as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, Zubarah town was known as a very important regional stop for fishing and pearl diving in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Since devoid from its occupants, the Qatari government took the responsibility of preserving and restoring the town as a cultural site for future generations to come and appreciate the history of Zubarah. (end) nnd.gta
