Russia extends Aleppo truce 24 hrs

MOSCOW, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The Russian army said Thursday that it will extend Aleppo truce by 24 hours, taking the break up until Friday afternoon.
Russia news agency (Interfax) quoted Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu as saying that President Vladimir Putin had ordered the extension to 16:00 (13:00 GMT).
On the order of President Vladimir Putin, "a decision was made to extend the 'humanitarian pause' by 24 hours," minister Sergei Shoigu said in a statement, adding that the decision was taken in coordination with Syrian authorities.
Meanwhile, according to the Russian center in Hamim Air base, eight injured armed men were able to leave Aleppo after truce announcement. (end) as.mb
