Russian truce not enough to evacuate fighters - UN

GENEVA, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura said Thursday that Russia's humanitarian truce, an 11-hour per day for four days, is enough to secure a safe evacuation for fighters.
This truce would contribute in facilitating medical evacuation, De Mistura said in a press conference, adding that the temporarily truce is a one-sided resolution that is not compatible with the UN's plan to alleviate the humanitarian crisis severity in eastern Aleppo.
He also noted that the Russian humanitarian pause is not part of the UN's plan of reaching a permanent ceasefire, as well as halt of all violent actions in Aleppo. (end) ta.ma
