BRUSSELS, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammad Al-Khoder and Chief of Staff of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) General Werner Freers discussed military cooperation, including Kuwait's participation in upcoming military drills late Wednesday.
In a statement to KUNA on Thursday, Al-Khoder hailed the role played by NATO to protect international peace and security, adding that the NATO was an important part of liberating Kuwait from the Iraqi occupation in 1991.
The Kuwaiti delegation visited the headquarters of SHAPE at the city of Mons, 70 klm south of Brussels. The first-ever visit of senior Kuwaiti army officials is set from October 19 to 22 by an invitation from the NATO.(end) nk.ag
