KUWAIT, Oct 17 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah headed to the Uzbek capital Tashkent on Monday, to head Kuwait's delegation to the 43rd session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister will preside over the opening session of the two-day meeting, where Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov will assume the position as chair of the 43rd session of the OIC's Council of Foreign Ministers.
The meeting is expected to tackle major challenges facing the Islamic world, chiefly, terrorism and the Palestinian cause, in addition to the conflicts in Syria, Iraq and Yemen.
Moreover, in addition to Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, Kuwait's delegation to the meeting includes Foreign Minister for the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister's Office Affairs Ambassador Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations' Affairs Ambassador Nasser Al-Heyn, Kuwait's Ambassador to Tashkent Ahmad Al-Jeeran and Kuwait's Consul General in Jeddah and Permanent Delegate to the OIC Wael Al-Enezi.
Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister is also due to visit Berlin to hold talks with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and he will then travel on to Paris to meet with French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault. (end) nam
