KUWAIT, Oct 17 (KUNA) -- The cabinet on Monday approved a draft decree that sets November 26 for parliamentary elections, and referred it to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
During the weekly meeting at Bayan Palace today, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the ministers were notified of a decree consenting the resignation of three ministers who will stand in the parliamentary elections.
These are Minister of Public Works and State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Ali Saleh Al-Omair, Minister of Communications and Minister of State for Municipality Affairs Eissa Ahmed Al-Kanderi and Minister of Justice, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea.
His Highness the Prime Minister thanked the three ministers for their sincere efforts in office, wishing them every success in serving the nation, said Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.

Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah added that the cabinet was then informed about a message from Pakistan's Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif to His Highness the Amir on means to enhance bilateral relations in all fields.
Meanwhile, the ministers reviewed the outcome of His Highness the Amir's visit to Thailand where he attended the 2nd Asian Cooperation Dialogue Summit, themed "One Asia, Diverse Strength." First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah briefed the meeting on the major points on the final statement of the summit, topped with establishing an ACD secretariat to be based in Kuwait.
He also apprised the cabinet of His Highness the Amir's speech to the summit, and his directives on commitment to the goals, role, and the principles of dialogue that contribute to achieving stability and sustainable development.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled offered the meeting a brief account of His Highness the Amir's historic visit to the Sultanate of Brunei and his talks with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah on boosting bilateral ties, besides regional and international issues and developments of common concern.
Then, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister gave notice to the cabinet of his participation in the 5th session of the GCC-Turkey High Level Strategic Dialogue, in Riyadh last week.
The session brought together foreign ministers from the two sides, and the Turkish minister of economy.
In the meantime, the cabinet tasked the Kuwait Municipality, in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the committee in charge of removing encroachments on state property, with developing solutions to the issue of unlicensed mosques and similar prayer places.
The cabinet consented two draft decrees approving a MoU for labor and social affairs cooperation with Tunisia, and a cultural and technical agreement with Algeria. The two decrees were referred to His Highness the Amir.
Afterwards, the cabinet eulogized former MP Falah Al-Sawagh who died last week.
Reviewing the political developments on the Arab and international scenes, the cabinet eulogized King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away on Thursday, expressing condolences to the Kingdom.
On the other hand, the cabinet congratulated Antonio Guterres who will succeed Ban Ki-moon as the new UN Secretary General on January 1.
The ministers recalled Ban's sincere efforts to serve peace, justice and humanity around the globe. (end) msa
