KUWAIT, Oct 5 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Electricity and Water signed on Wednesday a contract worth KD 62 million for work on a gas turbine cycle system in the Al-Zour Thermal Power Plant.
Minister of Electricity and Water Ahmad Al-Jassar signed the deal with electric power construction firm SEPCOIII, with a timeframe of 68 months, a statement by the ministry noted.
Moreover, the project also aims to increase energy production capacity to 250 megawatts (Mw), while the environment-friendly gas turbine system will operate on 500 Mw.
When completed, the project is expected to curb energy consumption by boosting electrical energy production. (end)
