1957 -- Kuwait Olympic Committee was established and proclaimed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.
1971 -- The State of Kuwait established diplomatic ties at the ambassadorial level with Mauritania.
1984 -- Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) building was inaugurated.
1984 -- An Amiri decree allowed the Central Bank of Kuwait to issue a new 20-dinar bill.
1997 -- The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in its 41st round in Vienna, unanimously elected the State of Kuwait as deputy chair of the round of meetings.
1999 -- Under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, The Yacht Club held a ceremony to welcome the return of Captain Ghanim Al-Othman, the first Arab to travel around the world by sea. The trip took one and a half years during which Al-Othman journeyed 34,000 nautical miles on a 46-foot boat.
1999 -- The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) honored during its third theater festival Kuwaiti actress Mariam Al-Ghadhban for her contributions to the Kuwaiti theater movement.
2001 -- Ministry of Interior launched Dasman Boat 307-B from Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Coast Guard Base.
2002 -- Sheikha Hussa Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah was elected for a four-year term as chairwoman for the Arab Businesswomen Council.
2004 -- Kuwait Real Estate Clearing Company was established with a capital of one million Kuwaiti dinars. (end) rk
