Over 60,000 Syrian migrants living in Netherlands

BRUSSELS, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- In the first eight months of 2016, some 19,000 Syrians registered with Dutch authorities bringing the total number of Syrians to 64,000 the Dutch national statistics office CBS reported Wednesday.
The influx of asylum seekers in the Netherlands began in 2014. The end of 2015 the influx of Syrians began to rise, reaching a peak of almost 3,000 in February and March.
Applicants who have been given a residence permit or at least stay six months in asylum centers in the Netherlands, may register with a local authority.
Most Syrians live in Amsterdam, followed by Rotterdam and Utrecht. (end) nk.tg
