Five IS suspects nabbed in coordinated European operation

MADRID, Sept 28 (KUNA) -- Five suspected members of the outlawed so-called Islamic State (IS) organization were arrested in a joint operation carried out by Spanish, German and Belgian security personnel, Spanish Ministry of Interior said on Wednesday.
Two of the suspects were nabbed in Barcelona, a third in Melilla, the fourth in a city in western Germany and the fifth in the Belgian capital Brussels.
The five detainees had formed a cell tasked with promoting, via the internet, extremist ideas and inciting terrorism.
The operation was carried outin coordination with the police squads of the European nations -- under supervision of Spain's central and higher courts. (end) hnd.rk
