27 more airstrikes target IS in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, Sept 25 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 27 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq Sunday, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report.
In Syria, 10 strikes near Abu Kamal, Ayn Issa, Day Az Zawr, Manbij, and Marآ’a destroyed five IS oil tankers, an oil tanker truck, 11 oil well heads, six fighting positions, a tank, and a mortar system, according to the report.
In Iraq, 17 strikes near Al Huwayjah, Haditha, Hit, Kisik, Mosul, Qayyarah, Ramadi, Sultan Abdallah, and Tal Afar destroyed five IS-held buildings, three tunnels, a watercraft, three weapons caches, a rocket system, two mortar systems, three rocket rails, and several IS vehicles, the report showed.
