KUWAIT, Sept 26 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Information (MoI) strives to work progressively to bring the nation's goals and ambitions to fruition, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said on Monday.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a media conference that he is patronizing, Sheikh Salman said that the ministry looks to enhance its capabilities through partnerships forged with international organizations, such as the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
Moreover, he noted that the conference centers on a new form of media, as he highlighted the significance of the sector in serving the nation's best interests, adding that the conference will unveil a year-long program aimed at developing national media.
Meanwhile, the MoI's Undersecretary of the Media Planning and Development Department Mohammad Al-Awash noted that the ministry has been able to depict an extraordinary image of Kuwait through its works.
He also added that the partnership with BBC is a new endeavor that consists of eight projects the ministry is undertaking to further develop the media sector.
In his speech, Samir Faraj, an official from BBC Arabic, said that current methods to convey messages to the audience are not adequate, noting that there is room for further improvement.
The encompassing media conference tackles a myriad of issues that run the gamut from the digital world to the internet and numerical archives. (end) amh.nam
