EU: no change in status of Hizbollah military wing

BRUSSELS, Sept 26 (KUNA) -- The EU clarified Monday that there has been no change in the listing of the Hizbollah military wing as a terrorist group.
"The listing of terrorist groups remain under constant review but so far as it comes to the listing of the military branch of Hizbollah there has been no change," Maja Kocijanic, a spokesperson for EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, told a news conference here today.
She was replying to a question related with the start of a trial in Bulgaria today of the 2012 bomb attack at Bulgariaآ’s Burgas airport in which five Israeli tourists and a Bulgarian bus driver were killed.
The Bulgarian government blamed the Lebanese group Hizbollah for the attack, but Hizbollah has rejected the accusation. Two alleged Hizbollah members are on trial in absentia in the case.
The European Union put the armed wing of Hizbollah on its terrorism list in July 2013 following the bus bombing in Bulgaria. (end) nk.mt
