Palestinian hunger striker released

RAMALLAH, Sept 24 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian prisoner was released on Saturday after he had been on a hunger strike for 70 days, an official said on Saturday.
Chairman of the Palestinian Prisoners Club Issa Karaka told the press that the Palestinian Red Crescent has received prisoner Malik Al-Qadi, whisking him to a medical facility after he was released.
"We have to work to nullify the law of administrative detention," Karaka said, adding that the release of Al-Qadi is a victory for prisoners.
A deal reached on Wednesday, through diplomatic intervention by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, facilitated the release of Al-Qadi.
Moreover, two other prisoners, brothers Mahmoud and Mohammed Balboul, who have been on a hunger strike for the past 75 days, are expected to be released on December 9th. (end) tma.nam
