RIYADH, Sept 22 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia's celebration of its 86th National Day on Friday comes in time where the country is exerting huge efforts to achieve the kingdom's "Vision 2030" for development, said Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom.
The wisdom of the Saudi leadership led the country to play a vital role in the international community, as well as in the Arab and Islamic worlds, Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah told KUNA on Thursday.
He praised Saudi's role in leading the Arab coalition against Houthi militias in Yemen, to bring peace and security to the country and the region as well.
Moreover, the ambassador noted the kingdom's humanitarian role, mainly the efforts of King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aids to provide aid for those in need everywhere, especially in the war-torn Yemen.
He also mentioned the country's continuous works to expand and develop services in Mecca and the Medina, providing Muslims with safe Hajj and Umrah.
Sheikh Thamer, meanwhile, congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior Prince Mohammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud, Saudi ruling family and citizens on the National Day.
Speaking of bilateral ties between Saudi and Kuwait, Sheikh Thamer noted the strong cooperation shared between the two on all levels. He added that the two sides are mainly cooperating in the security field through fighting terrorism and drug smuggling.(end) yms.ag
