Trump admits Obama was born in the US after years

WASHINGTON, Sept 17 (KUNA) -- After years of questioning his place of birth, Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump admitted that President Barack Obama was born in the US.
Law requires that a US president be a natural born citizen.
"President Barack Obama was born in the United States. Period," said Trump. "Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again." As far back as 2011 Trump called upon the president to publicize his birth certificate because "there is something on that birth certificate that he (Obama) doesn't like," he said in an interview on ABC's The View.
Friday, Trump argued, "(Democratic candidate) Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy. I finished it. You know what I mean," he said.
US media has since widely dismissed that Clinton was involved with the issue.
Analysts believe that under the direction of newly appointed campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, Trump is now attempting to appeal to college educated voters, a demographic he has struggled to gain support from.
Meanwhile, two major polls project a statistical tie between the candidates. Clinton is ahead by two points in a two-way match-up among likely voters. But when third party candidates are accounted for a tie is projected, according to a CBS/New York Times poll.
Additionally, a Fox News poll shows Clinton ahead of Trump by one point among likely voters in a four way ballot and when analyzed head to head, Trump is up by one point.
The first presidential debate is only 10 days away and will be the first time voters will get to see the candidates on the same stage which may create a shakeup in the polls (end).
