Kuwait launches major Eid sacrifices campaign in Iraqi Kurdistan

IRBIL, Sept 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait on Monday carried out a huge project for Eid Al-Adha sacrifices in Iraqi Kurdistan to meet the needs of the displaced Iraqis in the region.
Kuwait's Consulate General in Irbil, in cooperation with the Barzani Charity Foundation, implemented a project of Eid sacrifices offered by the Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation (KAPF), the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICC) and the Zakat House, counsellor Abdul-Rahman Al-Kuleib from the consulate told KUNA.
He added that the project, seen as the biggest in Kurdistan, included 11 tons of sacrifices, distributed on the displaced and poor families in the region.
Talking to KUNA, the representative of the Barzani Foundation, Ismail Abdulaziz expressed gratitude to the State of Kuwait and the Kuwaiti charity institutions for the relief aid they have been offering to the displaced Iraqis and the people in need in Kurdistan.
He added that the Eid sacrifices were given to about 7,000 new displaced Iraqis. (end) sbr.tma.msa
