Drone strike kills 11 rebels in SE Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Sept 4 (KUNA) -- At least 11 insurgents were killed in a drone strike by security forces in Afghanistanآ’s southeastern Khost province, said Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Sunday.
In a statement, the Afghan MoI said that 11 insurgents were killed during a drone strike in Khost province.
Moreover, the district chief, Mohammad Azim, told media that the drone strike was conducted in Ghorma area of Spera district in Khost, when a vehicle carrying insurgents was struck. Meanwhile,the provincial government also confirmed the strike in Ghorma, which is located 10 kilometers from the district center near the border with Pakistan.
Earlier last week, Afghan officials claimed that at least 120 Taliban rebels have been killed and many others wounded in two drone strikes in Afghanistanآ’s southeastern Paktia province. (end) sbk.nam m
