British Airways 1st airliner to land in Iran Airport

TEHRAN, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- British Airways landed on Friday in Tehran Airport after resumption of flights to Iran for the first time since diplomatic ties were cut between the two sides in 2012.
According to IRNA, six return flights per week will operate between London Heathrow and Tehran, which BA described as "an important destination".
The decision follows the lifting of some sanctions against Iran last January and the reopening of the British embassy in the Iranian capital in 2015.
The British embassy in Iran reopened in August last year, after it was ransacked by a mob in 2011.
The flights' resume comes after Iran had reached a long-term deal on its nuclear program with six world powers including the US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany in 2015.(end).
