Arab League deplores Israel's intransigence

CAIRO, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- The Arab League condemned on Wednesday mounting Israeli breaches in the occupied territories and escalatory rhetoric and stances namely a recent statement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirming Tel's Aviv's adamant settlement policies.
Saeed Abu Ali, the League Assistant Secretary General, said in a statement that the Security Council should shoulder its responsibilities regarding the recurring Israeli violations.
Serious action is warranted to implement relevant UN resolutions, end the occupation, dismantle the settlements and pave way for establishing the independent Palestinian state, he stressed.
He slammed Netanyahu for re-affirming that Tel Aviv would ignore calls for ceasing expansion and construction of the settlements. (end) mfm.rk
