Tunisian Gov't forces kill two gunmen planning terrorism

TUNISIA, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- Tunisian Government forces engaged in an armed clash with gunmen in the northwestern city of Al-Qasrain, killing two of the armed men, along with a single civilian, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.
The ministry said in a statement that the gunmen were killed in a pre-emptive raid, carried out late last night. The gunmen were hiding in a house and planning to carrying out terrorist attacks.
It also said one of the security personnel was wounded in the ensuing firefight.
Two days ago, three army soldiers died when a military convoy was attacked in Samama mountain in Al-Qasrain.
The attack occurred in a border mountainous region, a hotbed for anti-State armed groups.
Scores of civilians and personnel have been killed in a series of hit-and-run attacks by these gunmen, entrenched in the rugged region. (end) ksj.rk
