Kuwait embassy closely following suspended students case - amb.

WASHIGNTON, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Ambassador to the US Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah confirmed Tuesday that the embassy is closely following the case of Kuwaiti students, who were suspended by the US immigration authorities, in coordination with the Kuwaiti Consulate General in Los Angeles, California.
The embassy is working tirelessly with the US Departments of State and National Security, in addition to the Kuwaiti foreign ministry in order to lift the suspension of the students and return them to Kuwait as soon as possible through diplomatic channels and in accordance with US laws and regulations, Sheikh Salem said.
The United States follows specific unchangeable regulations and procedures ruled by federal laws, the Kuwaiti senior diplomat said, adding that work is currently underway to speed up the return of the students to their country.
The Consulate General in Los Angeles has met with the suspended students and is continuous contact with their families in Kuwait to assure them about their safety and inform them about the latest on their case and status, said Sheikh Salem.
The Kuwaiti students' case is of the embassy's top priorities as part of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah's directions, he noted. (end) ma
