Iran exports of oil products hit record high

TEHRAN, Aug 28 (KUNA) -- For the first time since the start of the oil industry in the Islamic Republic of Iran a century ago, the country's exports of oil derivatives stabilized at 400,000 bpd.
This figure was reached several times in the past but did not continue, Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Oil Products Refining and Distribution Abbas Kazemi said Sunday.
Iran seeks to expand the handling capacity of its southern seaports with a view to keeping abreast with the growing demand for its oil products, Kazemi said.
He expected Iran's exports of oil products to hit 500,000 bpd in the coming years.
Iran produces a series of directives including the Euro IV fuel, he said, noting that the country plans to expand its output of this type from the current 26 million liters to 30 million after the inauguration of Bandar Abbas refinery, south Iran.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Pour Heidar, the managing director of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) said that over 7.92 million tons of gas condensates, worth USD 3.22 billion, were exported from South Pars in the first four months of the Iranian calendar (beginning on March 20).
The figures reflect 142 percent rise in volume and 94 percent increase in value, Pour Heidar said in statements to IRNA news agency.
In this period, 11,158,421 tons of non-oil products worth about USD five billion were exported which had 131 percent rise in volume and 74 percent rise in value, he added. (end) fz.gb
